Perspectives: The Weekly Edition - Development and Peace: 50 Years of Solidarity
For 50 years, the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace has been in solidarity with worldwide social movements in addressing injustice and creating change. Explore the extraordinary journey of D&P with guests Fr. Bill Ryan, SJ and Anne-Marie Jackson, two long-time members and integral figures in D&P’s 50-year history. Founded by the Canadian Bishops as an independent, lay, grassroots organization in 1967, D&P takes a unique approach to aid: working with partners in the Global South to enable peoples to be the protagonists in their own development. D&P seeks to educate the Canadian population about the causes of poverty and mobilize them towards actions for change. Hosted by Sebastian Gomes.
