Got creativity? Enthusiastic faith? How about pizzazz?
Well then we want it! Youth Speak News: Made for TV wants you to participate in our programming. Here’s how:
Youth Speak News: Made for TV is a bi-weekly program produced in association with The Catholic Register newspaper. We follow a philosophy of handing the media reins over to young people, giving them practical experience in the media as well as the opportunity to share their opinions on the news, issues and events of the Catholic church. We invite young people to contribute ideas, input or video coverage for the following segments:
Going on Vocation
a casual conversation between a young person and religious about an everyday topic that turns into the theological (eg. While grocery shopping with Fr. Joe, Amy learns how the active bacteria in yogurt is just like the Holy Spirit stirring within us. Weird but true.).
Road Trip
a pilgrimage that offers the opportunity to talk about the destination (eg. a shrine to a particular saint) or the road to get there (eg. Hit a fork in the road and don’t know where to go? Maybe prayer and discernment is the best way to figure out what turn to take)
Stand Out
stories about young people doing extraordinary and interesting things in faith
Centre Stage
a fun song or skit with a good lesson
Speak Out
a 2-minute rant (think walking, talking and arms flailing) that gets people thinking about an issue in the Catholic church
All participants receive a DVD copy of the YSN: Made f or TV episode in which their segment appears, as well as a collection of Salt + Light boutique items.
I’d be thrilled to get your ideas and opinions, and to see you on Youth Speak News: Made for TV. For more information on how you can participate, please check out these links, give me a call at 416.971.5353 or email gkantor@saltandlighttv.org.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers and God Bless,
