Toronto Oratory. The Oratorians are a congregation of Roman Catholic priests and lay-brothers who live together in community. In Toronto, they serve Holy Family and St. Vincent de Paul parishes and count the formation and education of priests at St. Philip’s Seminary as one of its apostolates. They trace their spirituality back to St. Philip Neri who first established the Oratory in Italy in the 1500s. Cardinal John Henry Newman brought the Oratory into the English-speaking world when he founded the Birmingham Oratory in 1848.
