FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Catholic Focus explores Fountain of Love and Life, a
Canadian-produced program with a global following
February 23, 2010 (Toronto) – Salt + Light Television, Canada’s Catholic Network, takes a look at the Fountain of Love and Life ministry on the Wednesday, February 24th and Saturday, February 27th episodes of its flagship show, Catholic Focus, which airs at 7 and 11 pm ET.
In his letter to the faithful of the Catholic Church in China, Pope Benedict XVI writes: "'Duc in altum' (Lk 5:4). These words ring out for us today, and they invite us to remember the past with gratitude, to live the present with enthusiasm and to look forward to the future with confidence: 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever' (Heb 13:8). In China too the Church is called to be a witness of Christ, to look forward with hope, and – in proclaiming the Gospel – to measure up to the new challenges that the Chinese People must face.”
The call of the Holy Father is foremost in the minds of the Chinese Catholics behind Fountain of Love and Life. Fountain of Love and Life is the first Chinese Catholic television program produced in Canada. It made its debut on Salt + Light Television in 2006. Produced in Cantonese and subtitled in Chinese and English, this series uses real-life faith witnesses to spread the inspiring message of the Catholic faith. Fountain of Love and Life (FLL) is a ministry run mainly by volunteers, which is an admirable feat considering the fact that FLL airs not only in Canada but also on Catholic TV in the United States, and that the production branched out to radio as well. Host Mary Rose Bacani interviews guests Paul and Bonny Yeung, members of the core team of FLL, as they discuss the history, impact and hopes of the Fountain of Love and Life ministry as well as reflect on the generosity of their volunteers and supporters.
The episode will be available for viewing on-demand a few days after the episodes premiere through the Salt + Light website at saltandlighttv.org
